UNIT 2

The first combustion turbine at Fort St. Vrain was completed and began commercial operation in April 1996.  The unit was called "FSV Unit 2" because the original Steam Turbine is considered unit 1.  By early 1998, unit 2 had a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) added and was able to supply steam to power unit 1.  This photo was taken in early 1996 before construction of the HRSG began.
